Poem: Marian Verse
You are the eternal –mother
larger than life
or death
or anything contained within heaven or earth.
You transcend emotions and feelings and thoughts and ideas
into a unique state, a complete being that has existed since the Creator first
envisaged all that is. Older than the universe
yet as young and innocent as a newborn lamb
a soft shining light that shimmers over the seas,
a guide for sailors and travelers and lost poets, that sing to you their reverent songs.
Bearing your son, you renewed this whole world and made it blossom
In a new spring of hope;
Offering him back to the Source, to kalymenno, you took on a great sadness,
A wise and dolorous knowledge personified, the ultimate witness to the Divine.
To you do I offer salutations, O Lady of Good Counsel, O Undoer of Knots,
in my humble verse I do exalt. Pierced by daggers, I fall at your feet and seek there
solace and inspiration,
the blessings that pass all belief, that intercede for my every breath,
that bring me to the Threshold of Grace.
