Poem: Life and Death

 It was evening-

the sun

in its last moments

with a final burst

of brown, and copper and rose

seemed to die

passing on its immortality to me,

as I sat on the beach

the silver sands

now golden;

She was by my side.

The dying rays reflecting

on her auburn hair,

her bonzed limbs,

their sensuous sheen;

Death seemed so far away

and Life so full.
